When greeting someone in a formal situation you could say a number of things: Hello, may I introduce myself? My name is Charlotte. Good morning/afternoon/evening. Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Gordon. |
|
In response to someone introducing himself or herself or when you have been introduced, you might use one of these phrases in response: How do you do? (This is not a question, but rather a formal way of saying 'hello'. The phrase is often accompanied by a handshake.) Nice/Pleased/Delighted to meet you. |
