Forget e-mail, phone instead
MY 3G: FULLER, CEO at 3 UK
Bob Fuller's staff at 3 UK, the Hutchison 3G mobile operator, know not to send him e-mails. Instead, they always call their chief executive officer on his mobile videophone.
Almost all of his 3G mobile network usage consists of video. He regularly uses it not only with his staff, but with the other nine country managers around the world and with his boss in Hong Kong.
'You have the ability to 'show and tell', which is a much more efficient way of communicating information to people than describing it to them,' he says.
Mr Fuller uses the handset to watch the latest broadcast television news. He also uses the handset to view a map of his destination by putting in the postcode.
He concludes by saying that the 3G handset actually makes him more productive and enhances his efficiency. 'People will gravitate towards mobile video calls because they are just a natural extension of what happens in the workplace.'
